This is the Aikido Yuishinkai grading syllabus, all students are examined using it. Students should be aware that there is far more in the broader Aikido Yuishinkai curriculum than the techniques described here. Gradings should therefore be thought of as an indicator of progress rather than an exhaustive assessment of everything you might learn in the dojo. Gradings represent an opportunity to perform your aikido in front of your peers and instructors and as an opportunity to demonstrate the progress you have made, doing this helps to boost your confidence and assertiveness in your daily life. Note that it is not appropriate to ask to be graded, rather, your instructor will constantly assess your progress and invite you to grade when you have met the requirements. Additional notes and resources on this syllabus can be found on the Aikido Yuishinkai International website www.aikidoyuishinkai.org
